Hello friends. Need for you your help. A week ago my ram 1500 5.7 e torque 2021 started knocking. I took off camshaft that is damaged, but also found that camshaft bearings need to be replaced.

And I didn’t think that it will not be easy to find new ones.

All that I saw on market might not fit.

On rock auto when I choose by the model it gives me enginetech cc487, but I called enginetech to be sure that it will fit, and they said that the are not sure, ask a professional.

Also called summit racing and they said that they don’t have ones.

Maybe someone already solved that problem.

Thanks

You are way deeper in that engine than most of us on this site feel comfortable to be in.
Hopefully someone can give you advice.

That bearing looks fine

I was thinking the samething. Are there deep score marks in it, or just discoleration. If you take your fingernail to the beariing do you feel any depressions or is it smooth. Does the cam journal have score marks on it or is it smooth? Where you getting the cam from aftermarket or OEM at dealer? Did you take a inside micrometer and measure for roundness of the bearing? I would get the new cam measure the journal. Then measure the Inside Dia of the bearing and make sure you have the proper oil clearance .0015 to .002. Most likely .002 will be the norm.

Just my 2 cents..knocking is usually "rod" knock..I've never heard of cams knocking.

If a cam lobe is wiped, it'll cause the lifter to get damaged and eventually the rocker might cause some tick or knock sound.

How did that cam look? Were the cam bearing lobes of the cam worn?

There's really nothing wrong with that bearing. Might have been knicked when you pulled the cam out. I've seen some pretty pitted bearings that still worked fine.

Not the worst, but not good for sure!
That cam lobe peak is worn..some bind somewhere maybe(?).
That bearing lobe doesn't look great either (pitted?)..but hard to tell well from pics.
Bummer

HSKR/RT and READY GO are bith right, But I would change the cam and the bearings together. You got it apart why fool around. Has far to where you are getting the bearings just order them from the place you get the cam. Don't know if you checked this out Mopar Store.

That cam is toast as are the lifters that most likely caused the damage to the lobes.
Bearings are most likely fine, would have to see in person to make a call on that.
I was going to recommend Summit but you already contacted them with no luck.
Just did a google on 5.7 hemi cam. Several hits, multiple choices...

Yea I guess you can leave the bearings in place if they look ok. Not that you can see them all unless you use a borescope. Also, what’s the sense of replacing only one bearing. Especially since your other journals look ok on the cam. If you had a couple of damaged cam journals, then I would really inspect and think of replacing all the bearings. I guess you have or would have to buy or rent the proper tool to remove and install cam bearings. Plus, it is a PITA to make sure the oil holes line up with the bearings and block oil holes.

Also, I looked at the pictures on my friend’s really good monitor today, and he has an AI photo program. Which magnifies whatever I zoom in on. Truthfully it makes it look worse than it is, but I would just leave it alone. If it was me, I would at least mike up the new cams front journal, and if you can. Get an inside micrometer and very carefully mike the inside Diameter of the old front bearing. Take the difference and make sure the oil clearance is within specs. At least no more than .002” since it is stock. I would do that much to be confident that oil clearance is ok. Again, I have not rebuilt or printed an engine since 2001. So, I am out of scope on quality control of OEM camshafts with using old bearings.
