I have a 2024 ram 1500 big horn. Hemi, e-torque.
They actually started to happen a month after purchased. I didn’t think it was a big deal now it’s consistent and it’s kind of spread somehow into my steering wheel controls too.
Here’s what’s happening. I start the truck I drive. I put the comfort selection on the main screen. I adjust the temperature. The speed of the fan heated seats no problem. Then after a few minutes, it glitches and all three lights come on on the right hand side, which are front defrost rear defrost AC.
They all light up at the same time and it freezes. When trying to press the button buttons or turn the temperature down or turn the fan down nothing works. Completely frozen . What seems to work is I hold the volume button for 20 seconds and it does what I think is a soft reset everything resets takes a few minutes then I can use the controls again while it’s resetting the fan is on high speed and it always goes about 24°. This happens every time I drive the truck now. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting like I said before I’ve done all the soft resets every single time.
To me it feels like it’s like a loose wire or like a fuse isn’t pushed in all the way. Now today, what has happened is on the screen in the comfort settings. The same thing happens. Everything freezes, but the left side of my steering wheel the controls, the four arrows and the OK button don’t work behind the steering wheel on the left-hand side to control source for radio function that doesn’t work either, but the right hand side of the steering wheel the cruise control that still works
If anybody has an idea to help me out here or has the same issue, I’d really appreciate it. This is really beyond frustrating. Especially in the colder months when you use the auto start to warm up the truck and you get in and he’s not even on. It also does the same thing in the summertime with the air conditioner. It’ll glitch and put the heat back on.
