Went to the dealership with the intention to buy a Gladiator Rubicon. Test drove a sport model and was impressed with the get up and go compared to my 2017 JKUR. Man the 8 speed makes a world of difference. Sad news they did not have any Rubicon models on the lot nor did they know when they would be getting one. So me and the salesman started to build one to order. Well I did not get far in and I was already up to $55k price tag. So I stopped the salesman and told him to tell me more about the Power Wagon that was on the lot sitting next to the Gladiator that I just test drove. He went on and on about all the options and it was an 2018 model so they had it marked down to $50k. Man that was a lot of truck for something cheaper than the Gladiator. Then he told me if I like what I was hearing about the 2018 model then I needed to check out all the changes in the 2019. The main thing that caught my attention was it now has an 8 speed. I knew at that moment that I was not settling for the 2018 and I had to have the 2019. Well more bad news, no one hardly had any 2019's near me. There was a black one but I refuse to own another black vehicle even though the 5 minutes they are clean are almost worth owning it. Well I went back to the drawing board and decided to research the Power Wagon a little more before I did an impulse buy. After talking it over with my wife we decided since we already own a Jeep the Power Wagon was a more logical option. We can now comfortably tow the Jeep from Louisiana and start hitting some more westerly destinations. That day long trip just to get across the great "country" of Texas is just too much with four people, two dogs, and everything my wife overpacks to do in the Jeep. A dealership down the street ended up getting a Power Wagon in with all the options that I wanted. Went by to talk to the about it and ended up getting a great deal that I could not pass up.
The running joke among my Jeep friends is that my Jeep has no name which turned into the official name as "Neaux Name". Always told them when I finally get to Moab I will be crossing the desert in a Jeep with no name. So then they asked me if I was going to name the Power Wagon and at first I said no, but then I remembered a story of this ferocious mammal from Africa that tormented everyone and always escaped it's captivity. This story is about Stoffel the Honey Badger. If you don't know the story there are several comedians on youtube with some vulgar vocabulary that is happy to tell you his story. Without further ado here are the pictures of my two rides.....Stoffel the Power Wagon and Jeep with Neaux Name.
