Thinking about painting(body color) the solid red center section on my limited tail lights. Just not sure if it will cause a problem with the sensors, or even where or if they are in the tail light. Any thoughts?
Sensors are definitely in there if you have BLIS. I would think that body color paint would definitely affect them.Thinking about painting(body color) the solid red center section on my limited tail lights. That's what I was thinking. That way I can peal it if it doesn't work. Found a small(1/8) hole in the center that looks like a sensor/sonar hole that might be it. So, will make sure to plug it before coating the lens.I recall someone mentioned they smoked their light and had no issues; not sure if they had BLIS - however, only way to know is try... with plastidip paint to start?
pics pleaseI have tinted taillights and yes it works but tinted taillights is clear, light still shines through. Painted to match the body color would be pretty opaque I imagine but like it was said, try and see.
pics please
Nice!I had mine color matched and lightly tinted.
Nice!
Do you have Blind Spot Detection and if so, did it affect it?

Did a trial with a couple layers of blue masking tape before plastidipping mine. Neither affected the blind spot sensors. As far as the little pin hole in the middle, it is not a sensor. That is where the plastic is injected.
