Has anyone optioned the paint protection film? $780? What is it? If it's same as aftermarket for $3000, sounds worth it

many posters here have said they got the factory PPF but it did not appear as good as aftermarket. others have said it is worth it

It’s not the same. Even if they used the same film, the paint prep on the after market is far superior. All depends on how picky you are.
Aftermarket cost will greatly vary depending on how much coverage there is and where you get it done. I paid $1750 for XPEL film for full hood, front fenders, front bumper, headlights, grill surround, mirrors and cowl below headlights. I don’t think the factory offers much coverage. It may also only cover half the hood which creates a line across the hood.
