Paint defect (under warranty) dealers will not repair it. I want a buyback. (Update 10/9/25 Post #12)

I grew up driving RWD trucks in the winter. Never more than 150lbs in the bed of any weight at all. Most of the time just on regular all season tires. I daily drove my 00 Dakota R/T through the 2009 Nebraska winter where they set the record for consecutive days with snow on the ground. Even for snowed in at my parents house over Christmas because we got like 2' of drifting snow over ight that required the big snowblowers to clear the roads. 15" steel wheels,.snow tires and two 75lb sand bags. Never missed a beat. And the engine was modified making more power than stock. Just have to know how to drive in the snow
Of course you did. But everyone here knows you’re perfect. Maybe if I lived in a flat state like Nebraska I wouldn’t have needed the extra weight to make it up some of the mountain roads I drove back then.

@-RotorDemon- , my apologies for taking this thread off topic.

Just to let you know, plenty of people buy “off road” models and never leave the tarmac. I owned a 2017 Rebel for two and a half years and didn’t even drive on a gravel road, let alone take it off road. I bought it because I liked how it looked, not for any off road capability. Not everyone lives near places that are friendly to off roading. Most of the land in my area is privately owned. So unless you know someone with land you’re gonna have to drive a ways to find anywhere to go off road (at least without making property owners angry).
I get it, but I’m sure a scratch on a rebel hurts a wee bit less than on say a limited or a more luxury vehicle.
But really, I’m just being a **** because I got a little butthurt that dude is so mad with mopar and blaming them for a lot of his own doings, or not doings.

On a side note, back in 2018, before i bought new, I had a 12 RAM 1500 that had a dealership caused issue and they gave me a brand new silverado while they fix their mess up. Long story on that. But the Silverado felt like a toy. Everything in the dash rattled and creaked and i just felt like if i turned the volume knob to hard, it would snap off.
I drove that truck for 2 weeks…. 2 miserable weeks. So yeah. When someone says ‘Chevy Better Mopar’ in sloths voice i get a little itch.

I’m not sure that’s true for the guy who buys a brand new Rebel lol. But I see your point.

Haha I guess that makes me a weirdo :ROFLMAO:

I won’t defend those who end up in the ditch. Too many people don’t know how to drive in winter, and don’t understand that having 4wd does nothing for you when it comes to stopping or cornering under low traction conditions. :ROFLMAO: But my reason for having 4wd has nothing to do with looks. It’s entirely because of winter driving. And I’ve never been in the ditch. ;) I don’t know if you’ve ever tried driving a 2wd truck in winter or not, but without putting almost half a ton of weight in the bed it’s tough to get around at all. I’ve tried it and I wouldn’t recommend it.
oh yeah i get it, i have driven all 48 states and did it in the snow in every state that it snows in hauling 40 tons. i grew up in P.A rocking American car's, 2wd v8's with 2 doors and 4wd trucks were only really used to plow. man times have changed. we were never scared of driving in the snow but i am scared of other people not havening skills:oops:.
i live in NC now and people here cant even drive in the rain LOL. maybe if they put the phone down and paid attention to the road they could handle it.
