Paint and lots of scratches

Okay, I have the Max. Steel, Rebel. When the winds blows this truck scratches. I have have Chevy's all my life. I've always know chrsyler has horrible paint. Figured it would be better on a $60,000 truck. The hell? I've seen a white Rebel with scratches. So, is this what we have to live with when owning a Ram truck?

Picked up some minor scratches going down some camp trails which easily came off with Scratch X, otherwise no problems here... or on my old 2005 Dakota.

Sorry to hear about your issue. We are not same color paint but mine seems to be top notch quality at this time. Just to cya, would document and have your salesperson and service manager document also.

Having had both GMs and RAMs, I find the RAM paint more durable than GM trucks after the 2000 body change. My 98 Chevy K1500 was probably the best wearing paint on any of the vehicles I have owned. You can make your paint more resilient with a modern protective coating like a ceramic. They are spendy if done by a pro who will correct your paint first. Old school polishing and layering some quality DIY materials would work too. The name of the game is to put a surface charge on that doesn't attract and hold dirt and to make the surface super slick.

My 16' Ram is Max Steel and after three years and 70,000+ miles it still looks great! However, I have NOT subjected it to 'Arizona Pinstriping'. Also a truck that has been properly 'detailed' and kept up, using a quality wax/finish will accumulate far fewer surface scratches than one that has not-if after washing, your truck does not seem 'smooth as glass' to the touch you are in need of a detail!

FCA is not "known for horrible paint". At least since the days of the Daimler partnership, FCA clearcoat has been on the hard side, as typical of German cars. If anything, these would be harder to scratch... but also harder to correct and slightly less malleable than softer clearcoats more typical of British and Japanese.

Max Steel here, No issues further I take it through a car wash once sometimes twice per week.

No problems with my paint scratching either. Although I only do touchless washes by hand in the winter, just way to much salt on the truck to safely wash any other way.

Put a tough wax on there.

You might want to consider getting the paint rubbed-out and then have a ceramic coating applied. It is pricy but well worth it in the long run.

Thanks guys, I have been using Adams for almost ten years. Had an 07 TBSS, paint was amazing. This truck has so many scratches... I noticed they buffet it because of the ram boxes I guess. I think they went too far on the clear coat. I'll just do my three stages wax then ceramic it. I did the bed looks get but still not satisfied with paint. And yes, I clay bar always!
