Hi Barqs,
Let us know if this continues to happen as we would like to have this documented and looked into further. You can reach us via private message.

Would be curious if RAM is noticing a trend here. I JUST picked my RAM 1500 Limited up from the dealership two days ago. This morning the temperature was spot on. After a day parked outside at work, the outside temp continued to read the morning temperature (66 deg as opposed to the actual 98 deg). As a result, the remote start conditions for a hot day (air, seat vent, etc) were not activiated, I assume because the truck did not register the correct outside temperature. After driving for about 5 minutes, the outside temperature sensor normalized. Later, when the sun went down, and the truck was parked, the sensor displayed the earlier hotter actual. There seems to be an inappropriate delay in the sensor updating on my truck. Is this a consistent issue or specific to my new truck? From the thread, it seems to be a systemic issue.

Consistent issue, both in summer and winter. In summer, it’s uncomfortable. In winter, it can make you sick!

It probably is that hot initially. I assume the sensor is housed in a poorly insulated/ventilated plastic space so the air heats up much like the inside of a car in the sunlight with all windows rolled up. I can't recall any other vehicle I've owned having this issue to this degree. No pun intended.

They should also be able to add a sanity check . Some days mine shows 125-128F for the first few mins. That's not too far off from the Guinness Book of World Records and my outside FCA sensor declares that every few days during the summer.

My temperature gauge all summer was off. It was around 85 some days and mine was reading 101. I have never had a car or truck suck so bad with something that should be simple. My MPG also fluctuates like the wind. Some days it’s like 10mpg. Geez.

I have thought a few times mine was reading high because it was indicating a temperature higher than the radio station was saying. However, on the one occasion I was mindful to check, when I pulled into my driveway the indicated temperature from the truck matched my thermometer at the house. Exactly. I suppose they could both be off.

It does seem slow to stabilize after first starting.

The real temp was about 90F....temp in truck said 117. Maybe it reports the 'feels like' temp...LOL

Mine is about 4 to 5 degrees off (showing higher that actual) can these be recalibrated ?
Any updates on the ability to recalibrate??? Mine registered 104 when it was 85 in the summer and after 10 min would come down to roughly 5 degrees high. Now in the cold I drove 30 miles and it never dropped to the outside temp.... Dropped to 13 when it was 8 degrees outside....

Mine just recently stopped working as in no outside temp is displayed at all. Once in awhile it will flash -40 or -5. I am in the north and also have had a few times when the vented seats are on when I remote start it. Each time the outside temps were in the upper teens to lower 20's. Really nice to get in a cold car and have cold air blowing out of the seats.

This truck has numerous electronic gremlins that FCA refuses to fix.
