About to buy a limited but I listened to a 19 speaker a while back and was fairly disapointed. The sub seemed to rattle like the box is too small or something, I just couldnt get it adjusted to sound right. Havent heard the 9 speaker. Ive noticed other people complaining as well. What brand is the 9 speaker as well?

I would do a quick search, as there have been thousands of posts on the subject. The 19-speaker Harman Kardon sounds great with a TSB update and appropriate EQ settings, but some members have taken it much further with soundproofing, aftermarket subs, etc. The 9-speaker Alpine has generally good reviews.

I tested the limited with the HK and bought a limited with the Alpine. $4K difference was too much to get sound that I can’t distinguish anyway, and I dont want the intrusive safety items. If you are an audiophile then the HK “should” be a nicer system however you pay a steep package price to get it.

Sound is so subjective. Hard to say what will be good enough for you. As stated above there is extensive coverage on the topic if you really want to dig deep. Some people love their 9 speaker alpine and others their 19 speaker HK while others have completely upgraded both. One thing I will say is that ordinarily I would say save the cash and just put in your own system but this truck is a pita to upgrade the sound. It’s not impossible, just a pain. So if you want easy and aren’t an audiophile, either will probably be fine. Otherwise head over to the stereo discussion threads and grab some popcorn!
