Wondering what a good operating oil pressure is on the 5.7s, my truck seems to have gone up in the last little while. Is upwards of 55 psi still fair? I’m at around 50% before needing to change it out. I don’t know what was used in the last oil change as it’s a used ‘19 Laramie.

Thanks 🤚🏼

Coincidentally, I took a look at my oil pressure this morning and it was 55 as well. But it was also cold. It had only been running about two minutes.

When it's at normal temperature and cruising down the highway, it's almost always at 51 psi.

I’ve been driving for about 30 mins now, just parked and it’s at 27 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ll keep paying attention and see what the ranges are. Thanks for your reply.

While driving, that pressure seems normal to me, I usually see 50-55 psi.

At idle at fully up to temp is around 30 psi, on a very hot day probably a touch lower at hot idle.

Old school rule of thumb for oil pressure is 10 psi for every 1,000 rpm is safe. Not sure if that still applies today.

Minimum 10psi per RPM. Anything above 50psi while cruising is good. Will always drop at idle
