oil pressure? new 2025 3.0 turbo 20-32 PSI seems way low

My new truck has 400 miles on it now and noticed going through the gages that the oil pressure seems so low it's between.
20-30 psi but typical is 22-24 psi just driving normal.
When put foot in it lightly for better acceleration I have seen 32psi.
I have no idea about the volume on these pumps I know how important it is from the old V8 and the cam/lifter issues.
I know 0-20 weight oil is in these 3.0 SO models and on the HO motor they use the 0-40 weight.
on the 1st oil change I will be going with the 0-40 as long as ram care says it will not void the warranty.
20 weight oil is just no good enough in my opinion for the stress and especially the heat created from engine and turbos really need the protection.

I swear these company's want your engines to fail by doing things like this.
Last truck was a 6.7 Cummins always around 40+ to 52 PSI and hits the bypass.
the V8's I think is like 70PSI on bypass.
these aren't Harleys running at 8psi oil pressure, they're TWIN TURBO 10.5 : 1 compression engines that's a lot of load and pressure on bearings.
come on RAM! it better hold up for no less than 100k miles.

I'm not sure I'd switch viscosities like that just because of what the HO uses. The two engines share the same displacement, but are totally different engines. The SO was designed to use 0w-20. Using a higher viscosity oil than the engine is designed for can cause issues. I suspect that would void the warranty, but either way I would do a lot of research before making that switch.

I have no idea what the expected oil pressure is for the SO Hurricane engine. There isn't a standard catch-all pressure for all engines, so again, you might need to do research on that before freaking out about what you're seeing. In the mean time you have a warranty if something bad happens.

It probably has a variable displacement/pressure pump. (Hemis do not). I bet if you rev it over 3k rpms or so pressure will jump up significantly. My brother has a 3.6 Durango and I’ve towed with it and it does the same thing. Hovers around 30 psi until you rev it a bit.

The GM 6.2/5.3s act the same way on the oil pressure gauge. My old 5.3 would run around 40 all the time and jump up to 70-80 when you’d stand on it.

I'm glad (i think) to find this thread- just had my first oil change and hadn't looked at oil pressure prior - but a screen popup said something about checking proper oil fill and filter (weird as I hadn't seen that before) then I looked and my pressure is exactly as yours above. I called the dealer asking to speak to a tech - been waiting on a call back for two hours I'm used to much higher pressure pumps as well....

I called the dealer asking to speak to a tech - been waiting on a call back for two hours I'm used to much higher pressure pumps as well....

Did the oil fill issue ever get sorted? I see a lot of people talking about this now and I wanted to do my oil change at 1000 miles
