2021 RAM Limited 5.7 eTorque.

Is the Mopar filter #4884899AC the correct filter?

Also, what is the difference between #4884899AC and 4884899AB?

Thanks.

Whatever MO-339 is available at your local stores (Wal-Mart, O'Reilly, NAPA, Etc.) is the one you need. The part number is what Richard320 posted, but the shorter MO-339 also works.

Avoid Amazon, mainly because it's no cheaper and there is a chance it will be shipped in a soft bag instead of a box and and could get damaged during delivery (ask me how I know).

I usually find mine at Walmart for $10.

There is probably no difference since only the last letter is different. Mopar uses the part two characters as revisions. So as long as the numbers match, you should be fine.

Do you have a TRX? Because that's what that filter is for.

You mean the 899 filter? Did some research, the 899 is the TRX filter, while the 339 is the OEM for the regular 1500.

Even though the Mopar site says it isn't the right filter, apparently the 899 will fit the DT RAM 1500, but based on Mopar part numbers for the regular 5.7L, it should be the 339 the OP should be buying.

The 899 is larger, and maybe a tight fit on our RAMs in that confined space.

899 will fit, just a little tighter getting it in and out. I currently run the 5038041AA filter which is the SRT8 filter with better filtration for synthetic oil, and says SRT on it.. It's the same size as the 889AC.

So that's the Viper SRT filter I've been hearing about? Nice, good to get confirmation on that, I may give that a try on my next oil change.

I do oil analysis on my RAM's oil changes, it stated my filtration was excellent. Not sure if that says more about the air filter or the oil filter, but if I can improve it more while staying under warranty, why not?

I know on my 11 Ram 5.7 there were 2 filters available. I dont know the numbers but one is larger than the other. My new 21Ram 5.7 calls for the smaller one but I had an extra larger filter from my 11 in my garage so I used it because theres a larger media surface to catch the nasty stuff. It's a little snug getting it in there but fits no problem

04892339AB is correct for the OP's 2021 RAM Limited 5.7 eTorque.

My only question is what will my service advisor tell me if I have an issue with the powertrain and find a non-399 filter in there?

I'm thinking it's fine, but since I do my own oil changes, they may try to use it against me to get out of a warranty issue. Yes there is the Magnusson act, but they can tell me no and force me into some heavy red tape for years.

I think for now, I'll continue to use the 399 so I get no BS from the warranty department, plus my oil analysis is sparkling when it comes to filtration results using that filter.

how much are you paying for the oil analysis?

$30 at Blackstone Labs. I've been using them for probably a decade, mostly on my old stuff to warn me before some huge happens, but since I only drive enough to do an annual oil change, I decided to do the RAM as well, here is my last sample results...
