OEM CD Player

Looking at adding the CD player to my 2021 1500.

Just looking to find out part numbers for the player and for any additional parts needed like the cable.

Where does this mount?
Does it fit in the little cubby under the Trailer Brake Controller or the the Console?
Anyone know if this is PlugNPlay?
I'm old enough to want one of these (I still have a working AM/FM/8-Track from out of my '70 Chevelle).

You have to remove the center console, then you can the remover the little cubby insert and replace it with the CD player. 4 bolts in all. Wiring should be there, but I'm not sure. If they not there, there is an install kit available for adding the player. Also, you will need to program you BCM to enable the player. Here is a link to the install and the kit if you need it.

Let us know if you get one installed. I would have really liked it if my truck had come with a factory cd player. Ended up adding an a/m player that plugs into the usb, next best thing I guess.

Curious about the wiring. The video from infotainment has a wire plume and a "pass through" wire harness comes with it.

Ok, so I'm really old too but I love modern technology...
I have to ask, why do you want a C/D player? I have over 17 hours of songs on a thumb drive.
I also use the free verison of Spotify, ya it has ads but I can live with that.
Just wondering...

Love listening to whole albums. I have Pandora, and Sirius, and Hoopla. But also have CD audio books not available on those platforms. And a whole lot of mixed CDs that I like to play. Plus when I'm driving it's easier to simply insert a CD vs touching the screen and trying to navigate apps looking for the artist or genre... I guess I'm old

I downloaded my cds to an external 1T external drive and plugged it into the USB on my 2021. For some unknown reason, Uconnect did away with that option on my 2023 1500 Limited. A USB worked on my 2021 too. But not on my 2023 no matter how it was formatted. But they just installed a new “radio” component last Friday and I’ve got things on my 12” I hadn’t seen before, so I give it ago again.
