Hey there - I am looking to purchase my first pickup and found a seemingly great 2020 1500 Laramie 9 hours away. It is not certified and at a non-Ram dealer (Nissan dealer - purchased at auction after lease). The dealer sent me a ton of photos and a video walking around the truck. Almost everything looked great.

In one of the pictures, I noticed a wetspot on the frame. The salesperson said a mechanic there checked it out and suggested it's just AC condensate.

Could anyone confirm that this is normal? Thank you!

If it was AC condesate you would also see it dripped on the pavement below the truck. It could be residual oil from a previous oil change, as it can be kind of messy. Or it could be from an ongoing leak around the transfer case, oil filter, or Steering rack.

Doesn't seem to be a constant leak, likely a previous drip as mentioned. I would lay a towel down and then inspect with a flashlight to see if there is a leak in that general vicinity just in case.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Turns out the truck was sold before I could get a look at it.

You snooze you lose :p

Not to worry. I'm sure there are plenty of used Ram trucks for you to look at. At least there are where I live.

Late reply but yeah, looks like from oil change, ac condensate drips on the frame rail further back.
