I'm looking at ordering a longhorn limited with the Southfork Edition. Does it make sense that this configuration is incompatible with the Trailer-Tow-Group? I plan to ask the dealer to see if they can add it, but I am wondering if it will not work.

Seems strange. The only thing I can think of is for the dash center stacks being different? Total guess on that LOL. I often wonder why these kinds of things happen. I'm sure it makes sense to those who decide these things.
