I highly doubt they'll ever get rid of MDS. Thats a lot more integrated than eTorque.
But yeah, according to that video and the UAW production schedule, there will be 2027 model year trucks with regular (non eTorque but still MDS) Hemis. Shout out to Butter for his videos.
I wonder how much of a premium they'll charge for this option. I'm going to have to seriously think about this. Now let's hope they get rid of the gremlins in the electrical system before then.
I am cautiously hopeful that the rumored changes for 2027 come to fruition. Of course also dumping MDS would be nice, but doubt that is happening. Interestingly, from what I've read the no longer built Nissan Titan did not have an MDS-like system on their V8. I have even considered a used 2024 Titan Pro-4X from time to time. But for now, I plan to wait to see if Ram offers a 5.7 hemi without e-Torque.
