Howdy all! So I am new to full size pickups, RAM and this site. I absolutely fell in love with my 2019 Ram! Never thought I would move away from my Toyota's. I had a 2014 FJ Cruiser that I traded in on my RAM but couldn't be happier. My 14 FJ wasn't as fun as my 07 FJ and the new Tacoma's look like crap (except the interior). I looked at the Tundra but for what I wanted I wasn't paying $50k for anything quite yet. I live in Southern Utah and everyone around here drives full size pickups. I looked at the Ford F-150 but just thought it was plain ugly unless you paid $80k and bought a Raptor (hell no). Never even considered GM products (not a fan), then the RAM caught my eye and it was a Laramie. The only problem I had was I really liked the bucket seats and the only Laramie's in my price range had bench. I was working with a salesperson at a local dealership who found me my truck. I had given her all the information on the things I wanted the truck to have and she found me one that was just missing the Alpine stereo. I was actually in Las Vegas when I was working this deal. She sent me pictures of two trucks. The first one was a silver Laramie (had bench seats for $40k) the second a grey Big Horn with the Sport Appearance package (no Alpine). After seeing the Big Horn it was a done deal. The stock 8.4 inch system with the Apple Carplay was ten times better than the stock system in my FJ. This truck is amazing and the ride is fantastic! I love the power of the 5.7 Hemi and the sound of the exhaust when I get on it. I can't believe how quiet it is in the cabin also. FJ's are loud! So far I have spent over $2k in dress up for it! Nerf bars! 20" black rims, black out emblems and custom all weather floor mats. Did I say how much I love this truck? Looking forward to sharing thoughts and ideas! The picture is before I got all my black out emblems. Just have the RAM emblems on the sides to do.IMG_1520 (1).jpg

Picked them up from Rough Country. $399 shipped. Only issue is make sure that you get all the factory paint off the bolts underneath the truck before trying to bolt them on. I ended up breaking two bolts not realizing it. Once you get the paint off (use a die set) it takes 20 minutes to attach them. The hardest part was getting the paint off.

Congrats on your new truck! Looks awesome!

Before I installed my running boards I read a lot and watched several videos on Youtube on how to do the install, and many of them said the same as you to make sure all of the paint is removed first.

When I did my install, I found that I had NO paint at all on the built-in bolts, so I just had to hang the running board on the bolts and tighten up the nuts. Maybe there's a slight difference between the Big Horn model and mine, which is a Laramie.

Yeah I was pretty upset about the bolt breaking. Nothing said on the paperwork about paint on the bolts and my eyesight isn't the best. The first nut I put on went on fine but after that it wasn't so easy.
