To set the stage for my rant, this is my 5th Ram 1500 since 2019. I have always bought fully loaded Limited trucks and ordered a fully loaded 2025 Tungsten back in January 2024.
I received a call from my salesman in June saying the Onboard Power System was not available and my truck would come without it. I was not thrilled but said it was okay.
The truck arrived in mid-September and was the first Tungsten my dealership received. I was immediately in love with the truck, and it was noticeably nicer than my previous Limited's. Right off the jump, I was annoyed the Digital Key was not available in the RAM app. There does not seem to be a date for release, and I am growing worried it will never happen.
The first few weeks with the truck were mostly good except I had several issues with the keys (tried both of them) and the door handles not locking/unlocking and the truck would not start because the key was not detected. I had three occasions where the truck would not start and said service shifter. Each time I waited 10 minutes, and it would resolve itself and start.
After about 3 weeks I started having this very loud hissing sound coming from the front wheel wells every time I would park. It would go one for 10 minutes and eventually stop. The truck seemed to run fine, no warnings and suspension seemed to ride fine. I was slightly annoyed, but these seemed to be small inconveniences.
Two weeks ago, I walk out to the truck after work, and it was completely dead. No lights or anything. Had to use the metal key to open the door. Called roadside and got a jump and drove right to the dealer. The dealer had it for two weeks and replaced the suspension air compressor and gave me a new battery. Called me last night and said it was ready for pickup. I was so happy to have my truck back and I drove straight there to pick it up. Immediately I noticed the check engine light was on and the service manager said it was because of the new battery and would go away on its on shortly. Drove it home without issue except the self-driving would not work but I suspect it was because of the CEL was on.
As soon as I pulled in the garage and got out, I heard the hissing again. I was devastated. This morning it would barely start and the key issues happened. I drove it right back and they have it now with no real idea what the problem is. I also realized last night that this truck doesn't have the auto-parking feature as it is a late availability. I don't use it all the time but I liked it and no one from the dealer told me it was a late availability.
I am just feeling defeated and have an almost $100K truck that is broken, and I don't trust the truck to even start everytime. I have been driving a mini van and now a gladiator loaner and just want this to be over.
End Rant
