I am new to the forum, but not to Ram. I just purchased a 2025 Ram 1500 Limited with the SST H.O. I also have a 2016 Ram 1500 Lone Star with the 5.7L Hemi that I kept because no one would have given me what I wanted for it. I have done a lot of work on my 2016 and it has sentimental value because I purchased it on my birthday in 2016.

I don't plan on doing too much to this new Ram because it will be our travel vehicle unless we get something different for my wife. She has a 2020 Ford Explorer right now and the seats are horrendous for long trips. I did order a Diamondback SE cover for it along with the Mopar vent visors, Weathertech stone and bug deflector and Mopar locking lug nuts.

I have included a poll to see which truck you guys prefer. I know my favorite, but am interested to see the numbers from this poll.

I hope to get to know you guys better and value your opinions and insight.

Thanks

I like the newer truck. The yellow is sweet, but the front end on the red looks great. The chrome on the windows also dresses it up some.
I've had several earlier Ram Trucks, and just rec'd my 2025. The response of the SST is really nice.

25’ limited no comparison of the 2. Only down side is a lot of chrome. I’m in the same boat and wish I had night edition or paint match

I voted for your Yellow Ram. It has a good clean look, and the color is not common. How do you like the 3.0?

Full Disclosure: That picture of the 2016 was when I first bought it. I now have some side steps on it and different headlights. I posted the picture of when it was new because that is a comparative picture with the new truck. I still love that truck thought because it has a Jay Greene tune and it and it really woke the Hemi up.

I haven't fully tested the H.O. yet because I was kind of taking it easy with it for the first 1,000 miles. I had to get on it once getting on the interstate because a truck was coming and it did pretty good then. I will probably be testing it out this week since I went over 1,000 miles this weekend.

I did my first oil change already because I have traditionally done one between 500 and 1,000 miles on any new vehicle.

20230109_110340.jpg20201120_113014.jpgI also kept my 2002. The trade in value was 3K. It still has no rust and only 90K miles. It was a year before the hemi so it has the 5.9 Magnum. It's been fantastic and trouble free.

devildog…sweet rides! I current have a 2016 1500 Laramie 5.7 52k miles which I absolutely love (except the rear middle jump seat). I am very interested in hearing your feedback on that new HO engine. I plan to let my 18yo take the ‘16 and get myself either a new ‘25 Limited 1500 (mainly cuz of the standard 33 gal, 3.92 rear gears and reclining rear seats) OR the ‘24/25 Ford f150 Raptor. I’m not thrilled of ram dropping the v8 but I’m willing to get either the TRX or Raptor R. I’ve longed for a power wagon, but I can’t get past that rear middle jump seat.

I’ve read your other post about the “dead” battery and this electrical issue concerns me. Frustrating to pay 80k+ with these annoyances. Please so continue to post. Thx.

My vote if for the new truck. I'm a fan of the power from the SST, and have never been a fan of yellow trucks. Especially with chrome bumpers/grill. Just don't look right to me.

5th gen is just a better truck but 4th gen had my heart I think a ton of us came from 4th gens prior. Either way no need to decide since you have both lol.

That 2002 is a looooong truck. I bet that is a nightmare in some parking lots.

My 1999 had the 5.9L Magnum. It was a decent engine. I had that truck for 15 years and hardly had any problems with it. I looked back when I figured out how to see the date it was built and it was built on a Wednesday!!

I finally got on it last week before I started having the battery issue. It is a pretty impressive power plant. When the turbos spool up, it will put a grin on your face.

Have you looked at the RHO? It looks pretty good and it is a little cheaper than the TRX and Raptor.

It is frustrating, but sometimes that's the way it goes. I shouldn't have bought the new model refresh, but I was wanting a 5th Gen and I was curious about the Hurricane and ended up buying one.

I actually have a new grille for the 2016, but I haven't had a chance to send it to the body shop to get painted. I wanted to take the truck there to get some of the rock chips fixed at the same time.

I actually wanted the Sport model, but I couldn't swing the extra money at the time. My 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 was the Sport model and it had the painted bumpers. One good thing about the chrome bumpers is no rock chips.
