I’ve been lucky enough to drive a several company Ram 1500 Hemi’s over the last decade — all tradesman/classic. Those are great trucks and I was always impressed with the hot rod performance and good highway mileage with the tall gears.

With the new job I get to buy my own vehicle, and I went with the 5th Gen 2020 1500 and I’ve had it almost a year now. I can honestly say it is the perfect vehicle for me.

Longhorn level 1 (bighorn) — basic mid range nothing too fancy

I got the Hemi Off Road with tow package — I do light towing of around 4K or less pretty frequently and I’m off road around once a week checking livestock or hunting with my boys. I’m in San Antonio and frequent either the beach in Corpus Christi and the family in the Hill Country near Comfort, TX most months. The auto 4 wheel drive feature is great in the steep limestone hills.

It’s leveled with BFG AT’s, Fab4 bumpers, and I went with the X-Bull winch and powered steps which are great for my three little kids. I went with the K&N full kit and Magnaflow tuned DIY muffler replacement.

Next on the list is a front license plate holder that works well with the winch and some LED’s in the bumpers. I’m interested in a chip as EEE22195-B716-45BE-BAF5-348F61505DE7.jpegwell… maybe.
