New to the page, and to the 5th Gen. Certified RAM expert through FCA on the 4th Gen, but left the sales floor before these were officially announced. Had a 1st gen and 2nd gen previously, and am glad to be back.

Gonna keep this one fairly stock for a while..I've got enough toys as it is. That being said, when my plate clears up, we'll see how it goes20200530_184448.jpg20200530_184425.jpg

Welcome to the forum and congratulations!! Gorgeous truck!

Pls add your truck's vitals to your signature when you have a moment.
This makes it easier for other folks to help in case you have questions or concerns about your vehicle.

This forum is layed out a bit different than the ones I'm used to, so when I didnt see the option immediately, I went back to work (dont tell boss man)

Since you have “left the sales floor” I take it you were a salesman with FCA? If so, are you willing to share some tricks of the trade that could help some buyers? I am sure you would get a lot of questions.

Probably the biggest thing is to figure out your volume lots. While all of the FCA dealerships look the same, they're vastly different. I worked for an "automall" but our FCA building looked like all the rest. It was still the poor management and poor sales training across the board. That's why ours wasnt the best, and that's why I got out. I wasnt set up to succeed and it made no sense to stay when I made 1600/mo before taxes. I made more at the pizza place I left to work there.

FCA does a good job at product training (honestly, they all do) but it means nothing unless you find a sales manager who would rather sell 60 units and be willing to take half at a loss because FCA bonus money will make up for it, versus one who'd rather sit on his phone and play golf unless someone wanted to pay first pencil.

Other than that, dealer trades are real, but its dependent on the dealers trading. Be meticulous when hearing salespeople talk about recommendations/warranties/etc. Dont be afraid to ask for that in writing and signed..we were trained to verbally promise the moon, but be clear it's not bumper-to-bumper warranty . Most salespeople couldnt explain the 5.7 vs 5.7 with etorque, regardless of the training because they didnt care. The ones that know, you have a better shot at them being willing to work with you (provided the manager is on the same page)

I swore I'd write a blog post or something of all the BS when I left..I didnt intend on this to be a preview of that..haha
