Hi Everyone,
I have been ploughing through this forum since last two days. I recently got a used 22 Ram 1500 Longhorn Limited in Canada. Upon getting I had few misconceptions. The reason I came here was to know why my BSM is not working. Because I have the LED tailights and Triangle(on mirror). I had a 2018 Laramie before which had BSM.

But to my agony, I found out(thanks to this forum) that due to chip shortage I missed that feature on this truck. I found a thread how to install it. But tailights are expensive here. I will try to find a good deal in future.

To my second confusion, I have the power folding mirror button in controls. But it doesn't fold my mirrors. I thought that would be standard feature on limited longhorn. So I am not sure if that feature was never standard or should I go through warranty and ask to getting it fixed. Because if the feature was not standard, why do I have working button of it?

Thanks. I hope to read more on this forum and also write my experience with the truck.

Are you talking auto folding mirrors? The folding mirrors will only work by pushing the button. If you want when to auto fold, you will need a TazerDT

Does your build sheet list them as manual or auto folding? During Covid, there were a lot of substitutions with mirrors. In most cases, the trim package changed names from “level 2” to “level B” (which signified deletion of the auto folding mirrors). But occasionally there were trucks built with the auto mirrors listed, and they were actually manual.
So check your build sheet and window sticker - what do they say?

Don't you mean power folding? AFAIK auto folding mirrors aren't available on a Ram truck. Auto folding mirrors were something I had to use the TaserDT to turn on.

My bad. Yes, I meant power folding, not auto-folding.

I am talking about power folding mirrors. I don't have auto folding.

Window sticker doesn't say anything about power folding mirrors. But I do have button for it which has folding sign on it.

On my 25 BH, I have an option for auto folding (when you shut engine down and lock the door) It folds mirror and opens when I start the engine / drive

Looks like they added that for '25. It's about time they did that.

Hopefully they've upgraded the plastic gears in the mirrors. I know on my 2019 both of the power fold mirrors broke just before the warranty expired, and that was with only occasional folding.

5 1/2 years of folding and unfolding the mirrors, always retracted when not driving. Matter of habit to hit the mirror button and than lock button.
I am careful in winter to leave them deployed if ice and snow could cause a potential problem.
All good so far.
Just another experience with different results.
