My dog is unable to get into the back of the truck by himself and I'm worried that I'm going to hurt him or myself lifting his 80 lbs in and out of the backseat.
He's got a setup like this so I can't even use the floor as a lower tier. I have these steps (not my dog or truck) but the back door doesn't open wide enough to allow them to sit securely on the backseat.
I was thinking about a solution where I have something that slides out from under the back seat that allows me to rest the steps on. This would allow the steps to be lower and less steep and also more secure as he climbs up. It would also put the steps along the truck instead of perpendicular, which can be impossible in parking lots with surrounding cars.
Does anyone have any ideas on a platform that would store under the seat, but slide out when needed? Ideally I'd like to secure it to the bottom of the back seat so it can't move around when I'm driving.
