Need help wiring LEDs in bed

I have done many searches looking for how to do this but I can't find anything that shows how to tap into the tail light wiring. Does anyone have any pictures or videos showing how to do this? If not the tail light, how about the trailer wiring underneath? I know it's probably been beaten to death but I haven't found a good photo/video of what exactly to tie into.

Bought the Mictuning set from Amazon and can't wait to get them in. Would like to do a switch at the tailgate at some point too......

Also, stupid question but I'm not sure so I should ask. Do I need to disconnect the battery before doing any wiring?
