I think it might be called an axle extension housing.
I don't know if you can buy it loose, but seems like a used auto parts could hook you up with a front diff.

apparently can't get that part separately so I'll be replacing my whole diff! ****ing lame

Anybody near you weld aluminum? Might be worth looking into and have them beef it up with extra bracing

This would be my choice if I had to replace it myself.

Just curious why you aren't getting that repaired under warranty?
