Hey RAM owners, I’m looking to tune up my 2019 RAM 5.7 L limited with 200k kilometers on it and need your advice!

I’m currently getting about 4.8 kilometers per liter (5.5 in summer, 4.5 in winter). It’s the MDS version with cylinder deactivation.

1. For fuel system cleaning, which do you recommend: Techron or Red Line fuel cleaner? Or is there another product you swear by?

2. What’s the best brand of spark plugs for performance and reliability in your experience?

Would love to hear your tips or experiences to improve fuel economy and performance!

1. I had good luck with Lucas injector cleaner. No doubt there are others that are good also.
2. Getting ready for replacement, most likely will go OEM.
3. For fuel economy, keep your foot off it. As far as real performance gains, nothing that can be done without deep pockets, ie. turbo, supercharger, cam and the rest of the drive-line mods to deal with the power.

With that kind of milage, you have a real problem. Knowing that driving conditions, in town/stop and go/hilly terrain, etc all play a big part in the problem, and you didn't say hat type of driving conditions you have, it is a hard thing to guess what the issue might be. Generally speeking, the fuel we typically get, that should not be the issue, as fuels contain detergents to mitigate most fouling issues. From whai I have noticed in my personal driving is, habbitual rabbit starts from a stop, hauling and ot trailering, fast highway speeds, and driving like your on a race track.

All that being said, it still sounds like you got one of the "bad Monday /Friday quiting time" trucks. I personally get the same as your best MPG pulling a heavy trailer on long trips with an average between 12 and 13 MPH. My best is at 55/60 mph with 24 +/- mpg.

Good luck finding the problem and getting it fixed.

BG makes probably one of the best "pour in" cleaners called 44K...it's about $30 for a 12oz can.. works amazing...you most likely wont be able to find it at autozones, oreilley's or other stores like that.. most NAPA's carry it tho..

I’ve used amsoil injector cleaner and did my plugs 5k mile ago and put in NGK iridium and have seen an improvement in my mpg even with making a switch to 35’s (re-calibrated my tire size) I average 70% highway and 30% city I’ve been able to maintain 12-13 mpg and took a trip to Texas a few weeks back 800 miles clocked and averaged 13.7. I’ve got a Hemi 5.7 and mds also no r torque 3.92 gears
