I traded in my 2019 Raptor last Sept.

For a 2021 Black TRX with 14 k on it.

Two months later after a brief encounter with a patch of ice, my new truck now looked like this:

A trip to the hospital and no memory of the rest of the day was the end result. Though fortunately nothing really serious in the end. It was quite impressive though, I skidded down a row of trees and took out the passenger side the truck and hit a tree bringing me to a stop. Tree branch broke off and landed on top of the truck shattering the sun screen. The frame on the passenger side was pushed back about 4 inches compared to the right side. Needless to say, the truck was totaled.

Not being able to get a replacement locally I went on the internet, and in early February found a suitable replacement to my TRX. A 2022 Ignition Orange beauty. Absolutely love my new truck especially since I went from a level 1 package to every option under the book (except for the ram bar).

Anyway. What started out as a bad accident ended up getting me, in my opinion of course, a much nicer truck! I got it in Feb, and so far I haven't seen another one on the road.

Hope people enjoy this post.

Wow, that's a pretty serious accident. I'm surprised you survived, but I suppose it's a testament to the Ram's crash worthiness.

Hopefully you were able to get it for MSRP. That's a pretty rare color...only 1003 were made. I didn't see any for sale locally.

How fast was you going when you lost control?! If that was a slow to moderate speed crash that's a terrifying result!

I got pretty lucky with both the crash and the new truck. I was looking at a blue one they had online, and she commented they had just gotten in the Ignition Orange one in that day. I asked for a couple photos and put a down payment on it about an hour later. I was working with her on the paperwork on the phone the next morning right after they opened and a guy walked in with cash in hand to buy it. I was really glad I had put the down payment the night before. I paid $104K for it, but the insurance company gave me 12 over what I paid on the black one so I was ecstatic.

I was going about 40-45. The most surprising thing to me was none of the airbags went off.
I'm glad you were able to walk away from it, you must be doing something right! 😉

I, like everyone else, like your new ride!

He just totaled a TRX and bought another new one.
Unless he's rich that was an insurance claim lol
I woulda at least had to know what the salvage value was to buyback from the insurance company. That’s an expensive drivetrain in very high demand. Might have been worthwhile.
