Let me start out with just saying this may be my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I was a Ford truck guy, and was all set to buy a new F150 when the dealer pulled some shenanigans and I backed out of the deal. Was ticked off so I went looking at Rams and GMCs. Really liked the new Ram 1500. Found a great deal on almost exactly what I wanted. Got the deal done and absolutely love the truck. Rides better than the F150 I was looking at. The packages/features that came on the truck were far superior to what the F150 XLT had, and at less money. Zero issues so far and have had a blast doing some improvement that include
1. Blue ox baseplate so I can tow behind my RV
2. Ceramic tint all the way around
3. Line-x bedliner
4. LED bulbs inside
5. Rear wheel liners
6. Bed step
7. Tonneau cover - Tyger T3
8. Weathertech under seat storage
9. Weathertech mud guard

According to gauges I've been averaging right at 17.5 mpg on this tank. Based on miles/fuel it has to be close. Reset my trip meter and will be measuring the next few tanks to verify.

I would have probably laughed if someone had told me two weeks ago I'd have a Ram 1500 truck and enjoying it this much. But dang if it ain't true.

Did you test drive the GMC at all? I had a 14 GMC before I got my 19 Ram over 2 weeks ago. The Ram rides alot better and soaks up the bumps and small potholes without any noises or rattles, unlike the GMC. I didn't even test drive either 2019 GM truck as I don't like the new body styling at all. Had some F150's before the 14 GMC and was going to wait for new 2021 F150 but decided to give the Ram a try now.

Congrats on your truck purchase, what trim level did you go with and what options did you get? Given your comments about having more options than an F150 XLT, I am guessing you went with a Laramie trim or a highly optioned Big Horn. Anyway, I'm always happy to hear that someone got more than what they were expecting, it seems to happen a lot to new Ram owners, especially when they owned a Chevy, GMC or Ford.

I drove the F150 STX, XLT and GMC Sierra SLT. Power/acceleration I thought they were pretty similar. The Ford eco boost is pretty peppy. But layout, comfort, features, and I think looks, the Ram won by a ton. I bought a highly optioned Big Horn. I got 30% off MSRP of 55K, but when I priced out an XLT with as many features as I could to match the Ram, MSRP was higher and dealers were not giving nearly as good of deals. And I couldn't even get things I wanted like LED headlights in the XLT which I will never be without again.

I’m coming from a 2015 Silverado. Ram seriously set the bar high with this truck. It’s the best 1/2 ton out there right now! My only reservation is with reliability but only time will answer that question. So far it’s been more reliable than my Chevy which had constant recalls and other minor but annoying problems.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase.

Make sure you go file for this additional rebate. Seems like they have been having problems with vin numbers being in the system so you have to call them so they send you the actual app. Do it 60 days of purchase. Many of us have already received our checks. No strings attached.

The only qualification is that “someone in your household” must have a non-FCA vehicle.
