Multifunction LED Tailgate Light Strip

Speaking of this one specific (https://www.roughcountry.com/led-tailgate-light-strip-78860.html?find=2019-dodge-ram-1500-4wd-739970) however this question applies to any of them in reality.
It claims (both RC and universal model) on many sites to be 100% compatible with the 2019 Ram 1500 DT. It also claims to be attached via 3M tape between the tailgate and the bumper.

As shown in this picture, that appears to be correct.



But... the 2019 Ram 1500 DT has "stuff" there (see included pic). This is direct over the plate, dead center of where the strip would be.



Has anyone put one of these on? It seems like a bad idea as it will not lay flat, and thus not seal well.

Hi soulkeeper.

There's a ton of info on installing 60" taillight bars (Putco, OPT7 and others). The key is to use rubber or plastic spacers so the light bar mounts "above" the bumps. Good luck!

Rick, does the light bar illuminate with the brakes? With a Putco Blade and the RAM LED taillights you either get: 1) no turn delay and no Putco brake light or 2) the turn delay and Putco brake light Just wondering. Nice truck BTW! Hi V8Spock, Sorry for the delayed response, but I had part 2...

I had one on a Ford SD, I mounted it just below the tailgate, worked well. plugged into the 4 pin trailer harness.

After looking @RickWaz reply above, following links and taking a look, this is a chore. Not impossible or overly hard, but its not a buy, stick, plug and go type deal as I had hoped.

This is what I did. I have the multifunction tailgate and I install the 760 inch light bar. It was a little work but it works great with no rubbing when you open the tailgate.
