Hi all,

We'll be purchasing a Ram this year. We have a 2019 Laramie that we're looking at. However, one "problem" is that the previous owner upgraded the muffler to make it sound louder. We had an estimate that is about $950 to revert it back to the factory muffler. However, someone also told us that Ram owners may want to trade. We're located in Southern Wisconsin. Is this something that is easy to trade? or might it be more difficult or more expensive than we expect?

Almost New Ram Owner,
Kate

First u need to know what u have. (ie. flowmaster, borla, magnaflow) That will determine interest.

Then it's just a matter of finding someone to either trade with u straight up, or someone selling their old stock can. Either shouldn't be too hard as an aftermarket muffler is a common mod.

Then just ask around for a reputable muffler shop to swap/install. (On a prev. Truck of mine, I bought a flowmaster and carried it into a shop that swapped mine out for $60.)

I have a stock muffler from my 2020 Laramie that you can have if you come get it :D. Was only used for about 2000 miles of driving. Would be a long drive for you though ;)

Agree, figure out what ya have first. Lots of peeps would be interested in swapping

I just get a quieter aftermarket muffler should you not find a factory replacement.

A nearly stock sounding muffler is probably $100, changing it out is probably another $40 in labor.
