Reference several different articles on the web, here's one: https://www.torquenews.com/3769/wobble-death-affects-heavy-duty-ford-pickups-well-jeeps-and-others

Seems as if Ford has been sued now (June 2019) for the "death wobble", which for many years was "supposed to be" primarily a RAM issue (at least that's where I first heard of it). It's getting fairly common now, and basically has to do with a multiple amount of sources, worn and undersized front suspension parts, worn/undersized shocks, steering dampers, then add in bad brakes (rotors) and uneven wear on tires. All of this can combine and give the driver the "death wobble" that is being referred to.

What's sad is that (in typical manufacturer fashion) they seek to get the lawsuits dismissed instead of owning up to their part of the problem. (It's both on the driver and their maintenance and the manufacturer and their parts)

While this isn't a Ferd SD diesel forum, there's a good description of how it s affecting new trucks (in this case a 2019 SD with 60K) here at the YT Powerstrokehelp.com

Yes its a Ferd SD in the video however the main point is that these trucks, being called on to haul/tow heavier loads and with some components beefed up and others not, which create suspension imbalances. He (Bill) goes into quite the detailed explanation about alignments, which gearheads may appreciate.

Will this affect 5th gen 1500's like it is affecting F150's? Unsure, however if you start to feel it then look over your components as was described in the video.

Just FYI for those of you interested...
