MOPAR Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover not sealing at front corners of box

I bought a new 2026 Ram Bighorn just a few days ago. It came with a soft tri-fold tonneau cover and plastic bedliner. The bulb seal on the tonneau cover is not touching the box at the front corners, leaving a 1/8-1/4" gap that lets water in. All other regions appear to be properly seated.




I messed with the latches that hold down the cover but they are not adjustable and are barely adding any compression whatsoever. I tried adding a shim between the grip 'foot' of the latch and the underside of the box lip, but couldn't get the plastic latch to compress the seal enough and started worrying about breaking the plastic clamp.

I ended up buying a couple cheap c-clamps, hooking the tip of the clamp into the extruded aluminum of the bed cover, angling the clamp inward a little bit, and getting the foot of the clamp inside the lip of the box lip. It is squeezed down tight now! And given that it's on a slight angle, it has a good bite on the tonneau cover extrusion.

I realize these things aren't fully waterproof, but I'll take as much weather resistance as I can get.

I'll roll with what I have (pun intended) until it shreds from luffing the wind. Brand new truck with brand new cover that is already paid for...

Wish I would take the time to show you my factory installed tri fold leaks!!!
Was able to get it replaced under warrenty, but the definition of insanity came into play. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
YES, the warranted cover leaked as bad as the factory installed one.
After 9 months arguing with them I gave up and bought a roll up cover.
Still very minor leaks at the cab corners but no where else.
I've looked at on the lot new trucks and they are all the same, even Tungsten are afflicted, I have a limited.
