So my motor on the driver side power running boards is shot. I was gonna try and replace just the motor but it looks like I can’t or it’s gonna be over 300 bucks.

So if I remove the power running boards, do I need to do anything to disable them in the computer? Reason I asked, I unplugged the side with the bad motor and now my dash chimes every 10 minutes or so and says “power running board(s) not functioning, see dealer for service”

If I rip them off will the message keep going on until I go to a dealer or can I Alpha OBD in and turn them off

Edit: they are Mopar OEM brand

This sounds like the Mopar power folding boards (not Amp). Right?

I thought they were called the amp Power Running board

Amp is an aftermarket item (it's what I have), and you'll know it's Amp by the "Amp Research" logo on the arms. But the Amp boards don't interact with Uconnect. The only ones that do are the OEM Mopar boards. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice on the Mopar boards.

I know when they are added, they have to be activated with Alpha, so I'm sure the can be deactivated. Hopefully someone will chime in with what setting you need to change.

If they are Mopar boards you should be able to set this via Alfaobd to disable them and their integration in uConnect.
It might take 24 hours to fully take affect after changing the settings.

Automatic Side Step CSM Present: No
