They usually just push in with your fingers.....
I HIGHLY recommend the Weather Tech guards over the RAM. I think you'll be much happier with the fit, finish and they don't trap mud or snow inside them as they have no cavities.

They come with plastic rivets not the push in style.
I found a few videos on YouTube showing how to install with out a rivet tool.
Harbor Freight has a plastic rivet kit for $17.
