Mopar doesn’t understand skid plates

Yes, very heavy. But they are designed to hold the weight of the truck on them and can even be used as a jacking point. Not your grandfathers nerf steps.

I have Mopar rock rails for my Grand Cherokee and can assure you they are very stout. I’ve jacked the vehicle up from underneath the rails with a floor jack and used a HI-Lift from the side on the tubes.... they do indeed support the vehicle.

I imagine the rails for the 1500 will be equal in quality. (Hopefully easier to install though )

My 2020 Big Horn with no ORG has the Protection Group.

Protection Group Lists 4 Skid Plates plus Tow Hooks:

- Front Suspension Skid Plate
- Fuel Tank Skid Plate
- Steering Gear Skid Plate
- Tow Hooks
- Transfer Case Skid Plate

for those who are interested. I have protection group, i was little surprised to see no protection for transmission at all
