So I just installed the Mopar bug deflector. It looks odd with exposed s crews. I've installed bug deflectors before, but have never had one look like this before. Anyone else install this item before and does it look the same way?

Dont't have one, but could you use the license plate screw covers they sell with the ring behind the screw and the cover snaps on to hide the screw? Not sure how much space you have.

Looks right to me. Agreed that it’s an odd placement / design.

Yup, dealer installed mine. Mopar Matte Black on Rebel and the screws are the same under the flap exposed.

This is why I went with an AVS bug-flector ll. I can see your point not liking the exposed screws.

You have to look hard and under the flap to see em though. Not easily seen as black blends right in.

Can’t really see them unless your looking for them.

I like the look of this thing. The exposed screws don't bother me. Installation was straightforward

Looks good on your black truck. The screws don’t bother me either.

Has everyone that installed the Mopar bug shield happy with it still? I bought the flat black one because that's the only color I want but I really don't like the idea of how the clips go over the top of the hood. Seems like it could cause damage over time which would not leave you with the option to ever take it off. Also are the spacers that you mount to the hood to prevent the shield from touching really needed? I never had a bug shield that would touch the hood before.

Very happy with the matte black unit. Adding the supplied PPF before putting the end clips on is a must. It is very thick film. I have removed my hood shield several times to clean and wax where it sits, no issues with the paint at the clips.

Where is everyone getting the best deal on the matte black deflectors?
Want the windows too in matte black.
-Thanks

I got mine for $115 on ebay. I didn't see it for sale for less anywhere that didn't seem sketchy but I also didn't look that hard. You guys have me convinced to just go ahead and install it this weekend. I really like how it looks on that Rebel!!

I bought mine at my selling Dodge dealer and went to put it on at my sons garage. We both took 1 look at it and immediately thought it was the wrong one. I was going to return it today. Guess I'd better have another look. Anybody seen any how to videos as this looks to be something pretty stupid.

Do you have these ugly bumpers behind yours? This is a EGR deflector

Yep, mine has same screws, don’t bother me. Mine has been installed a year now, no issues other than knocked off one of the rubber bumpers washing truck. Had to glue back on.

I looked at purchasing/installing one but ended up going with the Suntek Ultra film applied to the leading edge and first few inches of the hood. It protects the paint but you don't know it is even there. It is on a white truck so will see if it yellows over time but is guaranteed for ten years by the installer. It's held up well thus far and no worries about marring up the paint due to clips or unsightly screws.
