Yakima has a system that would work similarly

I’ve got the Yakima Overhaul, not had a chance to put the kayaks on yet though.

Looks sweet! Happy with it?
Love the look of it, haven’t used it as a rack yet. Got the side rails last week so that I can mount my rotopax fuel/water cans & maybe eventually some maxtrax. Might get the rails on at the weekend.

Will hopefully find time to load the kayaks on over the next couple of weekends. Will take a few pictures when I do.

Long time since I last posted about this - got the side rails & rotopax fuel cans mounted a while ago & a few weeks ago I added some auxiliary lighting to the racks - see signature for details. 319470C6-F8B1-42B7-A681-9750707E9882.jpeg

If anyone is interested, I’ve got an Overhaul HD, pair of 68” HD crossbars, and the side rails I intend to list for sale. I’ve got a mounting kit for Retrax XR or Pace Edwards Ultragrove tonneau covers, as well as the original mounting hardware to mount it to a uncovered bed.

As far as I know, there’s no way to use the Overhaul HD with a Rambox.

I’m in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

In the picture, the rack is at its lowest height, but it is adjustable to several inches above the cab, good for carrying long items like canoes or kayaks.

Damn, wish you were in Austin, TX. I am looking for a Retrax pro with the T-slots...basically what you got.

It’s a great cover, and I’ll get a new one for the longer bed. I’ve attached the Yakima and Front Runner racks, and bike fork holders from Rocky amounts. I’ve gotten a lot more use out of the slots than I expected.

I have mountain bikes and Thule luggage rack I use regularly and would love to be able to mount them on my truck. I do a lot of road trips and plan to continue them with my new Ram. Ideally I want something installed by June because we are going to be living in Butte, Montana for the summer. Lots to do outdoors there.

Did you have any concern with the stability of the posts clamped to the bed? I installed my Yakima Outpost HD rack last night on my '21 Laramie and it seems like there's a lot of flex before connecting the top crossbar.

Had the rack installed for a while & it’s solid. Used it to haul lumber, been out on a long road trip, couple of runs out on desert trails & it never moved.

Thanks! I tested mine out over the weekend and it seems solid with everything connected. Love your build!
