Montana's RAM

Reserved for pics (Interior coming soon)

Updated pics. Finally got my bugflector and window deflectors sorted out. What a disaster that was. Not worth going into details but good luck to anyone looking for these products. QC no longer exists.

Tint is done. Massive difference in the front of the cab and such a to my neon white skin that was baking under the glass.

Another thing I did today was install the noise cancelling bypass. I'm actually shocked at how much of a difference it made. The sound in the cab just feels normal now. There are no random clicks or bump sounds and I can actually hear the engine with no hum to it. That system was just weird and I wasn't expecting any noticeable change, but it was pretty drastic just on the first day of driving how much better the in cab noises were.

I'm working on getting a tool box and getting some interior pics after I am able to clear my tools and stuff out of the rear of the cab. Currently looking like a mobile mechanic's work station back there. At least I got my dashcam done and thanks to the 10 pin adapter it was fairly quick and simple. I gave up parking mode though to use that adapter, but that's a trade off I'm okay with now days as I park and drive less than years before. And I also gave up the rear sliding window because I never use it, so I placed the rear facing cam right in the top center of it.

Doing a lot of research on the melling pump and it's something I want in ASAP. I can already hear the lifter noise at 20k and I've previously owned a FORD 5.3 Triton so I'm no stranger to Melling saving the world with their pumps. The rest I figure will happen eventually. If my air suspension gives me issues it'll get swapped for the 5100's. When it's time for a tranny flush I'll replace that pan with the PPE one. The same goes for the manifold, once that starts ticking I'll replace them with the BD ones. The only modifications I really want to do right now, despite only having 20k on it, are the oil filter relocation and the HV pump.
why did you give up the rear sliding window?

Hi.
I'm in the process of getting the Viofo A139 2ch for my 2019 Ram 1500. I am curious where you mounted it on your windshield. Would it be possible for you to post a picture of this? Also, what is your opinion on the dash cam so far?
Thanks in advance

I used a splice plug in here:
Dashcam 10 pin adapter

Yours might be different though. I don't have lane centering or ACC and I don't have the camera rear view either.

And then I just used a Dremel for the cables in the middle of the housing and mounted directly underneath it, center windshield, right under the rear view mirror.

The Viofo dash cam is good. I've had it for years. If they had 4k when I got it, I would have gone with the 4k option no doubt about it. Picture is one of the best you can get in a dashcam, but not being 4k still leaves a lot to be desired and in our RAM's, there is a lot of glare. I don't use a filter because of how bad it looks during low light situations and being rural Montana, that is quite often.

For the rear, I gave up the sliding glass because I never use it. I just mounted center in the rear. Running that cable along the rear is a bit tricky but if you've ever done a dashcam before, it's about the same for every vehicle.

Granted, the splice gives up parking mode. I don't need it anymore anyways, but it's a nice feature to have. I just wanted to keep it simple with the routing. In the past I've used battery packs for commuter vehicles to keep parking mode on for at least 24 hours if I need it. So if that is a consideration for you, the splice won't give you parking mode. It doesn't even turn on until you actually start the truck, so no remote start activation either.

Honestly I'm waiting to get the new transmission put in my truck before I consider doing anything. I took a trip today and not having the dash cam in parking mode didn't sit right with me, especially in crowded lots. So I'll probably do all that eventually if everything goes smoothly and I end up keeping the truck. Which I realize now I never updated my thread with lol.

Transmission issues slipping in 2nd and a new one is going in Apr 7th.

I added the ANC-CHH2 Harnesses yesterday morning and...HOLY CRAP it was best $30 ever!!

My HK is crisper/cleaner, my new Mopar 77072520AA exhaust sounds SOOO much better at all speeds, the PCM/TCM seems back to normal (has to be coincidental?), and NO strange sounds anymore!!

My opinion is that Ram's ANC is NOT a worthy system..it should at least have an On/Off option.

100% agree. I was shocked at the difference.

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate your response.

i had the alpine system. i used the t harness for the rockford dsr1. i assume ANC is part of the alpine amp because i didn't have to bypass it. or maybe i did and didn't realize it?
nice truck! i really like the longhorn better than the limited. did i see 1 with black interior? no plans for auto side steps? i must have mopar retractable side steps.

No plans for changing the steps out as I live in Montana and I'd have to keep them out half the year anyways due to the weather. I've had a set previously and while I liked the look, was not a fan of their potential failure points given the cost. That, and I still have no idea if I'm even keeping the truck for a long period.

I don't know if the Longhorn has ever come with black interior. I do know that I saw a 2025 (or maybe 2024) with the darker brown leather and it looked damn good. I absolutely hate my steering wheel not being entirely leather and it looks like on newer models they did away with that weird glossy polymer part. So no doubt about it if I keep the truck the steering wheel will get replaced eventually with just a standard all black leather wrapped one from a newer model.

The only real plans I have for the truck are Carven exhaust and a Bilstein air delete kit with a 1" level, maybe a bit less. I don't really care to level but if the bilsteins can do it, I might opt for a small amount.

Longhorns came in two possible interior color combos...(1) all chocolate brown with lighter brown/tan accents (lots of brown!), or the much more popular brown & black.
***sidenote, about 20 years ago, I spent a week or so in White Fish, MT on friends 1000 acres on "Farm to Market Road"..that really is God's Country out there!!
