Mirror defroster

I hope this isn’t a dumb question but how do you turn on the mirror defroster? I’ve looked on the dash and checked the options on the 12” screen but I don’t see it. I see the icon on the mirror and I see the electrical traces behind the glass so I know the option is there.

No, it doesn't light.

I don't have my truck yet but I had to ask the same question about my '19 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The tech told me I had to turn on the rear window defroster.....no the little icon does not light up.....and he used one of those laser thermometers to show me the mirror, in fact, was heating.
