After researching all of Meguiar's products I decided to try the new Meguiar's Hybrid Paint Coating tomorrow (saturday 5/15/2021). Says it lasts for a year+. I lease and didn't want to spend the money on a true ceramic coat. The reviews on this seem to be great so far but it's only a few months released.

Got a new Ram with <300 miles on it. I washed it last night mainly to see what prep work needs to be done. I decided to do a clay bar and there are a few spots that need some polishing but overall the paint is pristine. It needs a week to cure so I will do everything I can to keep it inside for a week. I will let you all know how it turns out.

I just did the same.

I polished the whole truck with Koch Chemie M3.02 and my Flex XCE with Buff and Shine Yellow URO-TEC pads.

Like yours the paint was in great shape as the truck only had 1500 miles on it. I'm always surprised how much better polishing can make any vehicle look. Really takes it up a notch.

This truck has a lot of surface area. Seems twice the amount of my Model 3. This took a long time even for a one step polish and 2 step coat.

I put Hybrid Paint Coating on the whole truck except glass and tires. I used Gtechniq G1 on windshield and G5 on all the rest of the glass.

This coating is super easy to apply, adds gloss, super slick, and super hydrophobic.

Pictures don't come close to doing it justice. Truck looks amazing. I'm really happy with it. Only unknown is durability but if Markus Kleis (former Meguiar's product manager) is right in his videos we should see at least a year.

This may be my new go-to lite coating.

The first two pictures are also after adding Bilstein 6112s to raise the front 1 1/4". The rest are from before the lift and show more rake.

All ceramic coatings take weeks to cure unless you accelerate it with IR lamps. They just don't tell you that.

That's why Carpro has Reload, Gyeon has Cure, Tac Systems has Quartz Max, Kamikaze has Overcoat, etc, etc. Those products are designed to protect the coating from water while it cures.

This coating says don't get wet for 24 hrs and don't wash for 7 days.

@dwalme How are you liking this 3 months in? Still doing well? I don't have an enclosed garage so I'm afraid of doing a "real" ceramic coating that requires more cure time. I feel like something such as this would be a nice compromise. Thinking of spending some time on my upcoming week off to prep the truck and apply.

I like it. Truck gets clean every time it rains. And when it needs a contact wash the coating makes washing so much easier.

I just sold this truck and picked up a Laramie. I plan to put this on the new truck too.
