Losing my Bluetooth connection when I use usb

Purchased last week. When I get a call using Google auto, it comes through the speaker of my phone and not the truck. When I unplug the usb and try to make the call or allow Bluetooth to use the truck, it deletes by BT connection and I have had to reinstall the phone and re-pair it about 4-5 times now. Not doing a couple of things right. Any help would be appreciated. I have the smaller screen
