Hi everyone. This will be 5th set of washer nozzles I’ll have to order for my 2021 Ram 1500 4wd. I only have 19k miles. Rocky Ridge package. I love my truck but boy what a hassle on this. I started out my fault for using Rain X orange washer fluid. I didn’t know. I always ran it my 2019 Town & Country and never had an issue. So after the first set I flushed out the washer system with vinegar and blue washer fluid. So it happened again about 30 days later. I ordered them again, off with hood insulation again. So the third time I very carefully removed the nozzles from the attached hoses and was successful without having to pull hood insulation. I tried working on these old ones but my air blew it apart in my driveway. They are way too restrictive. You can’t blow through the brand new ones, however the ones the mount on the hood (not the ones underneath the hood like mine) you can blow through those ones very easily. I was hoping by now that Dorman or somebody would have made an aftermarket nozzle. When you look it up even with vin whether it’s Dorman or any local part stores all it shows is the ones that amount above the hood. I’m about to rig something up. It’s getting ridiculous. I even googled aftermarket replacement for OEM 68291571AB but all I find is the OEM part. So here we go again. The 4th time it burned my pump up. Had to pull the wheel flares and the grille. I put a Trico pump in it. Last night the drivers side stopped working. I think I’m going figure out a way to fabricate one from an on the hood style nozzle. The under hood nozzles have a 90 degree nipple and they a longer rectangular hole than the above hood type. The back side is sandwiched over the back opening and the front snaps in. I’m definitely going to have rig something here. I left a notice to Dorman to please make this product. I let you know what my solution is…

What issue was caused by the Orange Rain X? 94,000 miles on my truck running it exclusively on Orange Rain X and never had a hiccup. To me it sounds like you must have debris in your washer reservoir that is causing the clogs and the nozzle problems.
The orange rain x killed my washer fluid sensor.

Perhaps it is not the rain x fluid but the blending of the 2 washer fluids that create some issue similar to what can happen with different anti freezes. Just a thought.

I quit using rain x or any off brand after I realized it was leaving a film on my windshield that the wipers did not clean. I have never had a issue with things clogging up but, I always thought it was road spray until it was very a strong residue mid summer and no rain for weeks but lots of dust hence lots of use of the fluid. The only thing that would clean it off was glass cleaner and hand scrubbing.

I have used clay bars to get the wind shield clean. One of several you tube videos.

I have clay bared my windshield also.

During warmer months I use distilled water almost exclusively. And this is in rural bug central lol. I figure if I'm going to go through it so quick I might as well save a couple dollars and avoid the color mess of streaks and spots as much as possible.

During cold months I still dilute as much as I can, and I use the yellow prestone stuff because it isn't a thick soapy crap. But it's getting a bit expensive so I usually just buy whatever is cheapest on sale now.

Just dilute your fluid a bit more and make sure the bottom of your reservoir doesn't have a bunch of debris in it. There should a small filter and it can all be removed, cleaned and replaced as needed.

Are your washer nozzle's mounted on the top of the hood or underneath the hood?

The nozzles that mount on top of the hood are not restrictive like the ones that mount underneath. You can’t even blow through a brand new that mounts under the hood but a new one that mounts on top of the hood you can’t even blow blow through it with ease. I flushed my system out using vinegar and blue fluid and air. When the pump died there was quite a lot of Rain X stuck on the filter on the bottom of the pump.
