Lomax bed cover installed!

Any idea how well the Lomax will seal out the rain?

I had it on for a few weeks and driven it in the rain. A few areas had some leaks but nothing major. I also bought the tailgate seal kit but have not installed it yet. I'll let you know if it makes a big difference once I install the package. Overall I think the new design eliminates most of the rain issues. Regards DH

Thanks DH. I like how clean this looks on your truck, and how easy it is to remove. Any issues or concerns with the tabs protruding from the Lomax rails?

Not really Wingman those are the lock down tabs which secure each section when you close the cover They heavy duty rubber and if they get in the way of any thing I will just remove the cover until I’m hauling. The cover is 60lbs and as you noted pretty easy to remove.

I also have the Lomax... but can you tell me where you got you're seal kit? I've wanted to get one but not sure where.

Access Trail Seal made by Agri-Cover Inc. part# 30946. See pics attached.CF097E13-99E7-4684-9EFA-5CD164ABD08C.jpeg239FD92B-2994-4DAD-9D65-B9619B706B2E.jpeg239FD92B-2994-4DAD-9D65-B9619B706B2E.jpeg

Since you have the spray in liner (like me), I'll be curious if this seal kit sticks to the liner. I've read where most people have attachment issues on spray in liners. Please let us know what you find out.

You should only have to seal up at the top of the tailgate (corners), not the lower portion. See pics

Well with that being the case (which I clearly see the gaps on my truck)...what seals did you get? Buying an entire kit doesn't seem necessary if there's another (lower cost) option for seals that would account for the smaller areas.

Mine came with my Truxedo Sentry because they already knew about the gap on the new tailgates so they included some weatherstripping. I have ramboxes so I’m not sure if that changes the gap at all (I wouldn’t think so) but the dimensions on each piece (left/right side) is:
4.5”L x 1.25”H x .5”W

So you don’t have to buy any “kits”. You can go and buy any pieces of foam or wheatherstripping that you can cut to that size. Even if it isn’t adhesive backed you can always put some 3m double stick on it.

Easy enough...I'll double-check my gap's length and find some 1/2" seals to try. Thanks.

Can you still put a head rack on if you have a Lomax?

Those mud flaps look nice. Where did you get them from?
You can find them at SharpTruck.com. Ram Gatorback Ramhead Logo No Drill. SKU TH-GCR34F-RV-GCR35R-RV.
