Hi all,

I’m looking at pulling the trigger on a Lomax and Bedrug XL from Luke over at Truck alterations. I got quoted $675 for the Lomax and $180 for the Bedrug XL delivered and no tax.

Any reason not to pull the trigger? I was leaning Bakflip MX4 but he’s really high in the Lomax. Pricing look right?

That sounds like a deal to me.

Can you share the contact info for Truck Alterations?

I purchased my Lomax cover (not yet installed) from Luke for the same price, along with a Bedrug. Had the Bedrug the next day and the Lomax took about a week as it had to be built first. It was a great transaction in my opinion.

He seems like a great guy for sure. I’m sold on the Bedrug XLT for sure, I don’t think have a need for full bed so I’ll save the money. Just wanted to make sure he didn’t give out anything better than $180. I have the factory spray in liner, but want the rug for my son’s stroller and other things so they won’t slide and scratch up on the gritty spray in.

Let me know how you like the Lomax once it’s in!

I like the Lomax. I installed it today. It took longer than I expected to install as I had a problem aligning the rail connectors on one side. I got it sorted out though and the rest of the install went smoothly. I did have to call AgriCover once as the rails attached to the bed group rails on the Rambox weren't lining up as the instructions said. Once I got them completely installed, the problem corrected itself. If you don't have a Rambox this won't be an issue for you.

My $675 spent with Luke at Truck Alterations was worth every penny, and then some. Lomax was super easy to install, fits and functions perfectly. Go for it ... You won't be sorry.

I installed the Lomax cover a week ago. I also purchased from truck alterations. However, from the photos I've seen, I was assuming the finish on the cover was a smooth, sleek black. The finish I received is rough, almost like the same texture as many of the fiberglass reinforced models.

What is yours like?

Thanks

Edit: Here is the description on truck alterations

"LOMAX(TM) Hard Tri-Fold Cover delivers a bold look, taking your truck to new heights. The textured matte black finish and ultra low profile design merge flawlessly..."

I guess I should read more. The videos and pictures I've seen don't really show the texture. Needless to say, I still love the cover.

I saw a Lomax tri-fold in person before ordering mine, so I knew about the texture. I prefer it like that. I'd call it subtle, as a squeegee removes every drop just like on windows. Well, not the little channels where it folds of course. It is good there are choices, as buyers like different things.

Installed the 2018 BedRug from Amazon on a 2019 with 5’7” and ram box. Lomax Tri-fold cover. Fits perfectly and looks great too.

Have you noticed any issues with the Bedrug staying attached to the edge of the tail gate? Since the depression on the gate lines up with the velcro strip I've noticed that it doesn't want to stick very well.

I installed the Lomax to try it out before installing the Bedrug. 20 minute downpour and these are my crappy results. Guess I’ll be trying a different tonneau. This thing sucks.
