Just got a Black Rebel. Had a big horn that I got a few months ago but someone totaled it, so now I happy ended up with a Rebel. I want to black out the skid plate. I’d like to know if anyone’s done it with Line-X and how happy they were with it. I did a search but couldn’t find what I was looking for. I’m worried it’ll look funny/not look similar enough to the bumper

I also used rustoleum bed liner spray without removing the skid plate. My only recommendation is to spray thin coats to prevent dripping. Happy with the look. Next up adding some color to the tow hooks…

Did you level the front? This looks very clean. Well done. I think I might get brave enough to spray my bash plate.
Thank you!

It’s a 4” BDS lift which sits pretty level. Wheels are XD Grenade 20x10 w/ negative -24 offset wrapped in Toyo RT 35x12.5.

I was on the fence about doing the skid plate as I didn’t know how it would turn out doing it myself… but wish I would have done it sooner now that it’s done. The bed liner matches the bumper perfectly in my opinion with color and texture. It’s very forgiving too being that bed liner has a matte finish.

Looks good, I plan on getting my skid plate and front bumper sprayed with rhino liner in the spring. There’s a couple small paint chips on my bumper that I can’t fix and colour match since it’s a textured paint.

One of the first things I did was remove it, had Line-X shoot both sides for $75. Best investment on my black Rebel.

Did you also spray the back of the skid plate or only the side facing the ground? Any kind of prep work involved before you sprayed? Looks good.
I only sprayed the front of the skid plate.

To prep I taped off and covered the front of the truck and undercarriage to prevent over spray. May of went a little overboard with the taping but wanted to make sure I didn’t get any bed liner anywhere I didn’t want it. I attached a picture for reference.
