2022 1500, 39k, 5.7, LSD. At about 30k began experiencing LSD shudder. Dealer said some vehicles left factory without limited slip additive. So, they added the additive to the diff. Smooth for 2-3k miles, but it came back. The original servicing dealer closed, out of business. Took to a new dealer. They don’t think the shudder is an issue. So, I replaced the fluid and LSD additive (all Mopar - which isn’t cheap!). Similar experience a few thousand miles later especially at slow turns, especially in reverse, LSD shudder. So…. I’ll probably try another dealer. Anyone have success with this annoying issue???

Get used to it, they ALL do it. I used to add an extra bottle or two of friction modifier (the stuff smells really bad) in my old F150 but even then, when it got cold, it shuddered. Eventually, after a 100,000 miles or so, the clutches will start to wear out and it will ease somewhat, but you will always notice it on a cold morning, especially when backing up and turning.

My RAM has an electronic locking rear diff which is much smoother under all normal driving conditions. I have tried locking it once in mud and it was worthless, got nowhere but side slip. The LSDs are really only good for quarter miles times and drag strips.
