Just noticed that my 2019 Limited LED accent lights that go above and below the main headlights (not sure what they're really called) on the driver side quit working. And of course I have 37K miles on the truck so it's out of warranty.

Anyone ever had to fix this?

Buried somewhere on this forum I remember somebody had that issue... turned out they needed to replace the entire headlight assembly. Super expensive 😬

My '19 limited's bottom section on the driver's side went out sporadically, but now has been on all the time. Very odd. I do believe the whole headlight assembly will have to be replaced. That's what the dealer told me when I drove by to get some advice, but I'm still under warranty and it's working now so I'm leaving it alone.

Maybe a loose connector or one that isn't sealed well? Worth taking a look to see if the connector was infiltrated by water that is causing the issue.

Over in the extended warranty forum, another poster poo-poo'd the relatively cheap warranty, thinking not much could go wrong in 8 years. This would've been covered, for $1175 (today's price) and a $200 deductible. I imagine new assemblies and labor would be more than $200.

I'm hoping for your sake that the repair is simpler and cheaper. When you pay what you pay for a Limited, it's ludicrous that something goes wrong in 2 years.

Small update. I haven't really looked into but the led strip works when flashing the amber color. Just doesn't illuminate in white. I've checked all the connections best I can to no avail.

Its likely the whole light that will need to be replaced. Get to the dealer ASAP and let them know its been sporadic and finally crapped out. If you are really that close on mileage they have some discretion on what to cover.

Have a good story too. It was sporadic, but with covid and work/family/life schedule/etc its been hard to get an appointment and i forgot about it, but just realized and now im barely over 36k, etc etc

Worth a shot, you have nothing to lose.

Mine still comes and goes and even switches sides on the bottom -- Crazy! Sometimes on and sometimes off but never at the same time -- ghost lighting

If the dealership doesn't work with you at all, you could try a used part and pay a body shop to swap it. Cheaper than the dealer, but as with any used part, there is some risk of course.

Looks like there are a couple Limited/Longhorn headlights on eBay right now (pre-owned) for $500 or so.

Does someone make the color changing replacement leds for the limited headlight strips?
