Limbo

I’m really trying to figure out why my interior got bumped to black when the salesman is the one who talked me into the red and black. Now when I go to build it doesn’t allow red and black leather with night edition. I was supposed to still have the option. Originally wanted all black but the salesman pumped me up with “dude your buying a rebel, you got to get the red accents “. Than went through the pictures and sold me on it. Crazy. I’m actually upset about not getting the red
I just ordered on 4/20 and the same thing happened to me. Won’t allow the Night Edition with a red interior which SUCKS. IMO the interior is very nice but there’s no contrast in the Rebel. It’s BLACK on BLACK on BLACK lol. The red accents would have been nice.

brother it’s stupid because when you googl 2021 rebel night edition it says you have the option

4/25. Ram chat tells me all parts have arrived No build date today. Check with dealer tomorrow. I’m assuming this is very good news

I am supposed to be getting my VIN tomorrow. Let’s hope.

Already called this morning. Still stuck in D limbo. Sent my salesman a text asking for poc. He should be back in dealership today so I’m hoping I don’t have to remind him. Miserable time ordering a new vehicle. I’m worst than a six year old waiting for Christmas morning 🧐
Join the suk... my wife is saying it’s teaching me a whole new skillset.

This is my 2020 Silverado. Duramax. When I bought it I absolutely loved it. Still do. Ironic part is I can’t wait to drop it off and get in my rebel
Not to derail this thread but why are you going away from the duramax already? I almost got one of those but got a much better trade offer from the Ram dealer when I got my ecodiesel

The duramax has been a nice engine. Mpgs are top notch. The truck is beautiful. I just fell in love with the rebels looks. Interior is supreme. Believe it or not if I had gotten the at4 from gmc I’d probably not have jumped ship so soon. I don’t have a mechanical reason as far as the engine. In the winter while I’m sitting in truck waiting to go to work the diesel is not supposed to idle they say it’s bad. I work in the city and get to work very early so I don’t sit in traffic. I have to convert to gas.

Also I love black on black but I’ll never make the mistake again. Working on construction sites the truck is filthy looking no matter how much I wash it

This is what I’ll miss most about my duramax. People don’t believe me when I tell them about the mpgs. I have my truck one year to the day and I’ve driven 26k miles. Never reset the trip. Granted mostly highways but my ride home is always in stop and go traffic plus driving in the Burroughs is like off roading. If you guys have ever driven in nyc you will know what I’m talking about. She’s been a good truck but like I said I just fell in love with the rebel.

And don’t kid yourself. At 90 mph I’m under 2k rpms. I guess that’s the ten speed tranny and the low gear ratio

Best part is my wife is gonna flip when I pull in driveway with new truck. She was flipping when I got the Chevy lol 😂

Just an update. I’m not sure what happened and how I had back to back updates of parts arrived and going to assembly but now as of yesterday I got back to back still in D. Waiting for parts to arrive to schedule. I am going to hold off til Saturday when I’m bringing my daughters jeep to the dealership for service. It’s so much easier just to find a truck on the lot and sign and drive vs. getting everything exactly as you want and having to dream of the truck you built that’s waiting to get built. I’m sure when it’s over I’ll say it was worth the wait but like everything else once your looking back on things it never seems that bad. To me this is bad. Piling up the miles on my duramax. Losing money on the trade every time I pull out of my driveway.

Just curious as to what delivery timeframe your dealer gave you when you ordered? You seem surprised it’s taking a while. Currently, most orders are taking 8 to 10 weeks. I've even seen some recent postings of dealers saying 10 to 15 weeks for delivery.

You did order at a time when the factory has been hit hard due to a rise in worker covid cases and a pretty significant shortage in parts, so going into it, I would have expected to be waiting a while.

As of 5/6 I officially moved to D-1. Dealership says they should have my truck in about 7-9 weeks just like ram chat says. I’ll keep every one posted
