Does the Lifter Fail issue only apply Gen 4 and early? Heard Ram axed the failed lifter supplier and went with a new shop. Any truth there? More importantly, any Gen 5s with failing lifters? I could be wrong but you don't actually hear that much in Gen 5. Intake studs yeah but not the lifters?

They increased the size of the roller pins to "fix" the issue, not sure if a supplier change was part of that. There are a few members here with reported lifter failures on 5th gens.

Did you buy a truck yet? If your forum name indicates you own an Audi, there is almost zero chance that anything could be as bad as an Audi once they are a few years old. If you are worried about Ram, then lease it and see what you think, as the truck will be under warranty the whole time. Or, if you want to buy, spring for a few thousand dollars and get the Mopar extended warranty from a dealer here on the forum. Otherwise, stop investigating every possible failure you have heard of on the internet. You can find horror stories about anything on the internet - there are probably people complaining about Toyota reliability too. I am not trying to be a jerk, but as a long time car enthusiast searching the internet for potential reliability problems will accomplish little other than to make you crazy and indecisive. Good luck with your purchase, whatever you choose.

Assuming you're talking about the V8 it won't matter, unless you buy used. The Hemi is history
