I did a 3 year subscription to alldata and have to do my manifolds.

Looking at their directions for manifold replacement, it says to "lift motor up without damaging wiring harness".

Watching a few videos and old posts I do not see anyone mention doing this.
Have you installed your own BD diesel manifolds and had to lift the motor?

No you dont need to lift the motor. Remove wheel and fender liner then bam you’re there.

Holding off on the drivers side, went to the passenger side since it seems to look easier room/access wise.
Hit the y-pipe to manifold bolts, one no problem. The second, bellhousing side, the little holder cage disintegrated, fighting that now. Good side appears no broken manifold bolts, all are in tact.
Hard part is doing this with no extra hands/helper.

Yep driver side is a bit more difficult but still completely do-able. Might wanna remove the shield on that side as well and check for cracks or broken bolts.. you might be surprised.

I will tomorrow morning, have to run out to get a tap and die set.
This manifolds coming off are the 2nd OEM set. They were changed out under warranty by the dealership.

I went to by hand run a new bolt from the kit into the head. A couple were a bit tight by hand. Going to get a tap to chase the threads out before final install.

The dealership said both were cracked, however I only hear the leak on the passenger side. On cold start you would hear the leak on passenger side. Driver side was quiet upon cold starts.

Going to swap it either way, hopefully one and done for the rest of my ownership.
